Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 + 11% superannuation depending on experience.

We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher to teach Islamic Studies with an option to lead the Islamic Studies department on a fixed term basis (up to 12 months) for the right candidate.
Position Requirements:
1. Provide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards.
2. Teach Islamic studies or other subject areas as directed by the Principal.
3. Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas.
4. Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
5. Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress.
6. Implement effective student management consistent with the College’s strategic plan.
7. Participate in professional development planning, implementation and reflection and developing a professional portfolio.
Applicants may also indicate their interest for higher duties as an acting Islamic Studies Coordinator.
1. Take a lead role in day to day running of the Islamic Studies department.
2. Actively build a sense of community and positive culture amongst the team.
3. Assist the Principal in development of Islamic Studies curriculum.
4. Assist the Principal with lesson observations and staff reviews.
5. Supports beginning teachers to refine and develop their teaching practice.
6. First point of contact for Islamic Studies teachers if they are unable to deal with student issues.
7. Second point of contact for parents (after the main teachers) regarding student issues.
8. Assist with implementation of all onboarding and mentoring procedures for new staff teaching Islamic Studies.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
· Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education or in the final year of a study to attain tertiary qualifications in education.
· VIT Registration or eligible to obtain Permission to Teach from VIT.
· Previous teaching experience in classes.
