Muhammadiyah Australia College will become the first Muhammadiyah's Primary School in Australia - located in Melton, a suburban area about 35 km west of Melbourne.
The main reason is that Muhammadiyah is an important education provider in Indonesia and a close partner of the Australian Government. The establishment of Muhammadiyah Australia College (MAC) would positively contribute to people to people relations between Australia and Indonesia. MAC would also help to act as an inter cultural bridge and increase the awareness of Islam and Indonesia to the Australian public.
There are more than 200 Independent Schools across Victoria, educating more than 130,000 students and increasing the choice in education by providing a range of programmes, philosophies and educational opportunities. Muhammadiyah through PCIM Australia proposes to facilitate primary education by setting up Muhammadiyah Australia College in the Melton area as a large number of prospective students from various Muslim backgrounds have been identified living within the boundary of school catchment
